We’re helping to fund free rides for COVID-19 vaccine access

We’re excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers to help address barriers to COVID-19 vaccination access. Our $1 million investment will fund free transportation to and from COVID-19 vaccination sites to support our state’s most underserved communities and vulnerable populations.

“Helping end this pandemic is a critical 2021 goal for our company, essential to our business and our communities,” said our President and CEO Andrew Dreyfus. “We know transportation is a barrier to access for vaccination for some of the communities that have been hardest-hit by the pandemic, and we are proud to help bridge this gap.”

“We welcome this new initiative, which will make it easier for our most vulnerable patients to get the vaccinations they desperately need,” said Manny Lopes, president and CEO at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, a member of our board and chair of our foundation’s board.

The new program will be rolled out in waves, beginning later this winter, to address both immediate transportation needs in underserved communities and long-term access to vaccines throughout the Commonwealth’s vaccination rollout.
