In 2022, employers can choose to offer their employees $0 cost share* for a set number of outpatient visits (including telehealth) for any of the following services:
Employers can choose to have the first one, three, or six outpatient visits** per member, per plan year at $0 cost share before regular cost share begins to apply. Please note that value care offerings are elected by the account (employer); therefore, only Blue Cross members under those specific accounts qualify for $0 cost visits.
*For Health Savings Account qualified high-deductible health plans (Saver plans), the deductible must be met first, then any copayment or co-insurance will be waived for the rest of the year.
**An account may choose to offer a custom number of $0 cost visits.
We’ve added a new display feature in Online Services under Limitations that will show how many $0 cost visits a member has used or that are remaining. See example below.
We'll continue to make updates to this display throughout the first quarter of 2022. An upcoming feature will show the member’s applicable cost share after they’ve exhausted their $0 cost visits. This will display under the Co-Payments column once the feature has been added.
