Fall update to member cost tool data

We’re conducting our biannual update of our member cost estimation tools. The data is based on care you rendered from February 1, 2020 – January 31, 2021, paid through March 31, 2021 under your contracted rates, including associated care rendered by other providers.

About the fall 2021 update

This update will include data for:

  • Our indemnity members, who will now have access to the member cost tool
  • Providers who may be new to cost estimation tool reporting, and existing providers who may now have data for treatment categories for which they did not previously meet minimum denominator requirements
  • 106 new treatment categories. This addition will align the data that we will be required to provide as part of the Transparency in Coverage Final Rule, which is planned to be implemented on January 1, 2023.

The tool encourages our members to consult with their clinicians in making decisions about where to seek care. Members may also refer to our quality comparison resources and listings of our Blue Distinction Centers to help select a site of service based on both quality and cost.

You can obtain a copy of your data from your Network Manager (log in and click on Contacts & Sites at the top of the page).
