New concierge partner will serve 18,000 members in 2020

On January 1, 2020 we will collaborate with health care concierge service, Accolade, to serve a new employer account, EMD Millipore.

Accolade will act as the “front door” for EMD Millipore’s employee benefits. Blue Cross will administer the members’ health insurance benefits, while Accolade will be the primary point of contact for all member service and care management for EMD Millipore’s 18,000 employees.

What will change?

There will be no change in how you communicate with us for all day-to-day administration. Continue to use the appropriate self-service technologies or the information listed in Contacts & Sites on Provider Central. 

Two things that will be different when you encounter EMD members include:

  • Cobranded member ID card
    EMD Millipore members will have member ID cards with both the Blue Cross of Massachusetts and Accolade logos, along with a unique Accolade member service telephone number.

  • Refer to Accolade for care management
    Please ask members you recommend for care management to contact Accolade instead of filling out our health management form. You may also expect to get calls from the Accolade service team when they are working on behalf of a Blue Cross member to coordinate care and benefits.
