Dental Blue Freedom: What you need to know

You may have recently noticed an increase in patients asking you about the Dental Blue Freedom plan. We’d like to take the opportunity to provide you with the answers to questions you and your patients may have about this offering.

What is the Dental Blue Freedom plan?

The Dental Blue Freedom plan offers your patients the flexibility to use dentists in both the Dental Blue and Dental Blue PPO network to receive covered services. You can find the answers to many of your questions about Dental Blue Freedom or any of our products in our Dental Blue Book for Providers on Provider Central. Be sure to select Dental Blue Freedom as the product name to see product-specific information.

What do I need to do to provide care for patients whose employer switches to the Dental Blue Freedom plan?

The great news is that you can continue to see your patients whose employer switches to the Dental Blue Freedom plan. You will be reimbursed according to your contracted fee schedule.

What if my patient has questions about plan coverage?

Please ask your patients to contact Member Service at the number on their ID card.

What if I have questions about my Blue Cross Agreement?
