Through your participation in Dental Blue, you are considered in-network for members of participating out-of-state Blue plans. Members have access to the Dental GRID networks. The GRID links dental networks, including the dental networks of many of the nation’s Blue Cross plans. Since 2014, the Dental GRID network has enabled you to increase your patient base by offering the opportunity to serve patients who live in Massachusetts but have coverage through another Blue Cross plan.
How to get paid
We reimburse you at your Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Dental Blue contracted rate when you provide services to members who use the Dental GRID network. Follow the claims submission information on the member’s ID card. To access the 2019 Dental Blue Indemnity Fee Schedule, log in and go to Office Resources>Billing & Reimbursement>Fee Schedules.
We will cover services delivered by participating dentists based on each member’s specific plan, so please remember to check eligibility and benefits before providing services. You can find the Eligibility & Billing information on the back of the member’s ID card.
Federal Employee Program
The Dental GRID network is also available as secondary benefits to members of the Federal Employee Program’s FEP BlueDental. Each member enrolled in FEP BlueDental receives an identification card. The back of the ID card shows GRID+ as the member’s network. You can verify coverage for the date of service by calling the FEP BlueDental Customer Service Department at 1-855-504- 2583.
