Shields Health (Shields) has notified us that they are leaving our network, effective for dates of service on and after December 31, 2023.
Shields provides imaging services, such as MRI, and PET/CT scans for our members in both freestanding centers and within some hospital locations. They also offer outpatient surgical services at four locations: Chelmsford, Medford, Natick, and Shrewsbury, and have physicians that read radiology studies.
In the event Shields elects to remain in our network as of December 31, 2023, we will notify you immediately.
What does this mean if you refer patients to Shields?
Your Agreement with us requires you to use participating providers whenever possible. If you currently refer our members to Shields for outpatient surgery services or imaging, please start referring them to an in-network provider instead.
