Update: Shields Health to remain in our network

Shields Health (Shields) will not be leaving the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts network on December 31, 2023 as previously communicated. We’re pleased to announce that we’ve reached an agreement with Shields and they will be staying in our network.
As a reminder, Shields provides imaging services, such as MRI, and PET/CT scans for our members in both freestanding centers and within some hospital locations. They also offer outpatient surgical services at four locations—Chelmsford, Medford, Natick, and Shrewsbury—and have physicians that read radiology studies.
