How to write prescriptions for the mail service pharmacy
Please write prescriptions for a 90-day supply plus refills. The member will need a new prescription, even if previously taking the medication.

Member options for filling mail service pharmacy prescriptions
If the Blue Cross member’s prescriber doesn’t send the prescription electronically or by fax to the CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy as indicated above, the member also has options for filling their medication once they have a prescription from you.
Web. The member can sign into their Blue Cross account at bluecrossma.org and request a new prescription with the mail service pharmacy.
Phone. A representative will assist the member in getting started, including coordinating the prescription request with the member’s prescriber, as needed.

Mail. Complete a CVS
Caremark Mail Service Order Form. Members can also call CVS Customer Care to request a form. Once complete, the member can mail to the address listed on the form and include their paper prescription.
Members should allow five days for delivery from the date the order was sent.
Certain controlled substances and other prescribed medications may be subject to dispensing limitations and to the professional judgment of the pharmacist. Opioid prescriptions cannot be filled through the CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy.
