Value-based Benefit Medications
Some of our members may have a plan that includes value-based pharmacy benefits. Members with these benefits get certain medications at reduced or no copayment when purchased through the CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy. This encourages them to take their medications as prescribed. These medications include those used in the treatment of:
- Asthma
- Cardiovascular disease (taking high blood pressure and high cholesterol medications)
- Coronary artery disease
- Depression. Certain drugs commonly used in the treatment of depression are also included when taken in conjunction with medications used to treat asthma, risk for cardiovascular disease, coronary artery disease, or diabetes.
- Diabetes
- Smoking cessation
