Blue Distinction programs designate providers across the country that have met a consistent set of quality and cost criteria. Blue Plans can use the Blue Distinction designation when designing benefits for employers.

Total Care recognizes doctors and hospitals nationwide for their efforts in coordinating total patient care. Programs that receive the Blue Distinction Total Care designation incorporate patient-centered and data-driven practices to better coordinate care and improve the quality, safety, and affordability of care. | ||

Blue Distinction Specialty Care recognizes facilities and providers that have demonstrated expertise in delivering specialty care through the Blue Distinction Centers® designation. Facilities and providers that have shown expertise and cost-efficiency in delivering specialty care are designated as Blue Distinction Centers+. These designations are available for the following specialty care areas:

Applying for Blue Distinction
We will invite eligible facilities to apply for Blue Distinction during designation cycles set by the Blue Cross Association.
