Equian is changing to Optum

Please share with relevant office staff and billing agencies

As you know, we’ve partnered with Equian, a national payment integrity vendor, since 2018 to review select inpatient facility claims on a pre-payment basis. In 2019, Optum acquired Equian.

Effective March 1, 2026, Equian will update their contact information and applicable reporting documentation to reflect Optum’s name. Aside from this, there will be no changes to the itemized bill pre-payment review program.

Please refer to the table below for updates and notify any relevant office staff and billing agencies of these changes.
