We’re sending Cologuard kits to eligible members this summer
May 18, 2026

This article is for primary care providers caring for our Medicare Advantage and Federal Employee Program members

Next month, we’re reaching out to certain members, who may be due for a colorectal cancer screening, about obtaining a Cologuard kit. This initiative offers a convenient, non-invasive option at no cost to the member.

Eligibility details: Medicare Advantage and Federal Employee Program members identified through claims data as average risk for colon cancer are eligible.

  • Those with high-risk conditions are excluded from receiving kits.

If you have patients that fall into the criteria above, you may have received a letter from us. This letter explains our program with Cologuard and gives you the option to remove your patient(s) from this outreach, if you feel it may not be appropriate for them.

How it works:

  • We’ll notify members that they may be eligible to receive a kit, including guidance on who should or should not complete the screening.
  • Members can opt out within two weeks.
  • Exact Sciences1 will mail kits after the opt-out period.
  • Members will complete the kit and mail their samples back to Exact Sciences for analysis.
  • Results are sent to members and their PCP (on file or attributed), and sent electronically to practices that use EPIC.

We encourage you to discuss Cologuard and all available screening options with your patients to decide what works best for them.

As always, we thank you for helping us coordinate quality care.

1. We’re working with Exact Sciences and Recuro Health, an independent health screening organization, to send Cologuard kits to members. Cologuard is shipped through the provider, Exact Sciences, who works with clinicians at Recuro Health to order Cologuard for the member.
