You’ll need to either:
Advanced Practice nurses: Please indicate your collaborating or supervising physician's name on the detail screen and include a copy of your certification. This is another common cause of delays to the credentialing process.
|Step||Get your credentialing decision
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts makes independent decisions about credentialing. To do this, our Credentials Committee reviews an applicant’s credentials to determine if they meet our Professional Credentialing and Recredentialing Requirements. You will be notified of the initial credentialing decision. If you are credentialed, we will send you a welcome letter that states the effective date of your contractual participation with us.
Review your information in the CAQH ProView
You must recredential every two years at the time of your birthday. The recredentialing cycle depends on whether you were born in an odd or even year. For example, if your date of birth is May 15, 1980 (an even year) and you were first credentialed in May of 2015, your recredentialing would be due in May of 2016 because 2016 is an even year. Your next recredentialing application would be due in May 2018 and every two years thereafter.
To recredential, review your information in CAQH ProView and then re-attest to its accuracy. Be sure to update all expired information in your CAQH ProView application.
Our Credentials Committee reviews the information that you provide to CAQH ProView. If we have questions about your recredentialing information, we will contact you. Otherwise, you will not receive any further communication from us about your recredentialing.
The leading causes of incomplete recredentialing applications is the absence of current malpractice insurance information; be sure to review this information when re-attesting.
